A roth that was originally imported from Sarawak. It is a very old legacy plant that is around since the late 80's. The most interesting part are the 17-18cm petals that the plant can do on a single growth.
Though no match for some of the modern roth in terms of breeding, I feel it has potential as a motherplant. Many of the large 35+cm flowered rothschildianum recently are produced by removing the flower spikes over several seasons, followed by removing spikes on a clump, to allow only 1-2 spikes to form. The whole strength goes then in the remaining flowers. This one can do individual petals of 17-18cm without this artifice. More a motherplant for breeders. 1 mature + 1 start
