This is one of the classic species from Borneo. Its hourglass shape and stretched out peristome has made it one of the best parent species in breeding Nepenthes hybrids. Undersides of the lids have bristles that accumulate nectar exudant which supports a symbiotic relationship with tree shrews.
Several locations of this species are commonly available, Mt. Trusmadi, Mulu, and Murud. These seedlings are from Christian Klein and are of the Mt. Trusmadi locality which is one of the biggest forms.
